Brewery reviews- Delaware

March 31, 2017

Blue Earl Brewing

210 Artisan Drive, Smyrna, DE

Founded: 2014

Last visit: August 2018

Nice: Large taproom with lots of music memorabilia- mainly jazz and blues

Very friendly staff (and customers!)

The full gamut of tasty beers with some bottles to-go.

Stupid: Hard to find. GPS will take you to the right area but the brewery itself is somewhat hidden. Go toward the Walmart Distribution Center and you'll find it.

Notes: Ask the staff where to go. I almost went to a "bad" bar in a "bad" part of Dover. They suggested a great place!

Favorite beer: Honeysuckle Rose (Belgian blonde)

Food: No food served.

Rating: 🍺🍺  Definitely go

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery

6 Cannery Village Center, Milton, DE

Founded: 1995

Last visit: December 2017

Nice: Large facility with an awesome metal treehouse in front, which they use for meetings and special tours.

Delicious beers of many variations.

The free hour-long tour is very interesting and includes four tasting samples in the taproom.

Stupid: Most of what's on-tap can be found in stores but revisit ones you haven't had in a while!

Notes: Their brewpub (Brewings & Eats) in downtown Rehoboth is very good as well.

Favorite beer: Palo Santo Marron (wood-aged imperial brown)

Food: A food truck is usually on-site.

Rating: 🍺🍺  Definitely go.
