Brewery reviews- Missouri

April 1, 2017

Anheuser-Busch Brewery

1200 Lynch Street, St. Louis, MO

Founded: 1852

Last visit: March 2018

Nice: The original location of Budweiser. Much beer history here.

Several tours available. The regular one is free but I'd recommend paying for one to learn more and avoid waiting for a crowd.

You get to see the Clydesdales! And maybe the Dalmatians!

Stupid: America's brewery is owned by a European company. They fail to mention that.

Notes: This is one of 12 A-B facilities in the US. (Also see my review of the one in Jacksonville.)

Favorite beer: Michelob AmberBock

Food: Full menu (and food pairings) in their biergarten.

Rating: 🍺🍺 Definitely go.

Boulevard Brewing Company

2534 Madison Avenue, Kansas City, MO

Founded: 1989

Last visit: March 2018

Nice: Many delicious beers on tap.

Excellent ($5) hour-long tour showing their large facility and discussing its interesting history.

I don't host events but they rent their space out to people who do.

Stupid: Getting there is a bit confusing but that's because Missouri's roads are weird.

Notes: To see the brewery from afar, just look for the Boulevard tower.

Favorite beer: Rye-On-Rye

Food: Limited menu of snacks such as cheese plates and pretzel dogs.

Rating: 🍺🍺 Definitely go.
